About
Alexis Hassan, M.S.,
LMFT-Associate
Hi, I’m Alexis (she/her), a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. I graduated with a master's in psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University. Before starting in the therapy field, I graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Mexican American/Latino Studies. I have always had a passion to work with and advocate for communities that have been historically marginalized by the dominant discourse.
As a therapist, it has been an honor to work with families, couples, and individuals of all different backgrounds and identities who have been experiencing anxiety, grief, relationship difficulties and other life stressors. I have been privileged to work as an intern at the Community Counseling Service, Transplants for Children, Driggers Elementary School and Alivio Psychological Services, PLLC. I am passionate about working with people from the LGBTQIA+ and Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming (TGNC) communities as well as empowering individuals from other communities.
In our work together, it is my job to create a safe, judgement free space where your story can be heard and valued. I will walk alongside you on your journey and we will collaborate and work together to make the changes you are seeking and to write the next chapters of your story.
In my work, I use Narrative Therapy, Collaborative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to create a versatile set of tools to help create change. Every client is unique and as such I work hard to ensure that the work we do together is right for you. I am a lifelong learner and am always continuing to grow and add more tools to my toolbox.
