Hello!
I received my doctorate in counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2001. I am a licensed professional counselor and supervisor.
I am trained to work systemically and honor the lived experiences of my clients. I am a certified trainer with the Heart and Soul Change project which focuses on obtaining “client directed” feedback to ensure your voice as the client is a part of every conversation to ensure that I am helpful and that you are talking about what is important to you. I work from a brief, strength-based approach and believe in the power of hope to be a part of every journey to recovery. I work from a place of cultural curiosity and respect that every client holds the potential to improve their lives.
I have been a proud faculty member who has trained students at both the master’s and the doctoral level. I also have thirty years of experience both as a therapist and conducting immigration evaluations. I have also worked extensively with trauma survivors.
I passionately believe that if you feel isolated, alone and hopeless, I will “hold the hope” for you until you get there. No one needs to do this alone.
